Can I rub your feet?

by Mariah on July 22, 2010

Simple question, right? WRONG! Around these parts it means “can I rub your feet so you can pay me?”

Now some of you do not know me very well yet, so I am letting you in on a secret. Massages and relaxation do not come easily for me like they do for my hubby. Remember EVIL PHALANGES??

But there are times when your feet need a massage! Can I hear an Amen?!

Being in New Orleans on vacation puts your feet to the test my friends. So Amos being the awesome father that he is, took all the kids to the what? Yup. The massage station in the middle of the mall. So classic. You walk in and they give you a “sample” then pound you with the full price.

Well. The kids LOVED their massages and ever since the girls were on the receiving end of foot massage madness, they took mental notes and like good little students, they put it into practice.

It has been foot massage heaven in our house ever since. For Amos they call it a spa and for me they call it a salon. They break out with a towel wrapped on your head, rub lotion all over your feet and legs, then put those little hands into your muscles.

It. Is. Pure. Joy.

Of course they offer to rub your back as well, then your neck and shoulders.

Sounds good right?

Well, just like their mentors, the more they massage, the more you have to “tip” them.

Tip?

Yup. Tip.

Hilarious! I tell you what, tho, I’d take it. I need to get my 3-yo daughter working on it, as for right now I ask her to scratch my back a bit. Child labor? Or labor of love? :P

Somehow I *just* saw that you commented on my blog a while ago, and so I figured I’d come by and say hey, and check your place out. ;)

Nice to meet you!!!

Hey, my son could totally pay his way into college if he did that! I’m a right sucker for foot massages.

Then again, he doesn’t need to know people get PAID for them. Maybe I’ll just tell him he has to rub mommy’s feet if he wants to eat.

Yeah, that’s the way to go!

That’s too funny! Little entrepreneurs, huh? My kids give me foot massages all the time – they’re too sweet. They’ve never asked for tips though, not yet anyway…lol.

Your blog’s quite lovely. I’ve been finding so many wonderful new blogs through the challenge – I only wish I had more time for reading them. I must learn to speed read! Peace. ;)

Funny! Great idea. I’ll have to see if I can get my kiddos in on this action. Is there a time limit? I can totally see my foot massage lasting 15 seconds before they thrust a tip jar in my face. Heh.

HILARIOUS! Hey – if you’re going to do the work you might as well get a little throw back, right?

Too cute. Luckily my kiddos haven’t started asking for tips. But, for a decent massage, I probably wouldn’t mind so much.

Stopping by via SITS to say howdy!
